Rolling cabinets and mobile islands make quick work of kitchen prep. It sounds so simple, but so few of us think of it: make one base cabinet a rolling element, with a built-in chopping-block top for at-your-service accessibility. If you don't like the look of casters, have your cabinetmaker conceal the wheels with a plinth for a completely inconspicuous solution. It's also great for bringing dishes back and forth from the table to the sink if you have trouble carrying a lot of items at once.
